Trevor & Lynn Brand Retire as HUJFC Chairman & Treasurer

We never thought we would see the day...

or at least we secretly hoped we would never see the day that Mr Trevor Brand retired as the Chairman of Hailsham United Junior Club.

You see, Trevor has been the Chairman of our club for 32 years!. That's THIRTY TWO years. That's 11'680 days or to put it into some sort of perspective, the same time it would take you to walk around the earth 33 times (yes I really did work that out)!

Most of our current coaching team were actually playing for Hailsham United when Trevor took over the role as Chairman all those years ago, he supported us back then and continued to support us when we began our coaching journeys.

Trevor didnt only hold the Chairmans role at the club either, he also held the secretarial role, dealt with fixtures, kit and equipment so as you can tell, when Trevor stood down, he left some massive shoes to fill.

One role Trevor didn't deal with for the entire 32 years was the Treasurers role. This role was taken up by his wonderful wife Lynn, who I'm told only accepted the role as "it would only be for a few months". Poor Lynn can't even stand football!!!
But, just like Trevor, Lynn remained our Treasurer for a total of 15 years. That's FIFTEEN years. That's (you know where I'm going with this don't you) 6205 days or to put it into some sort of perspective, the same time it would take you to walk around the earth 16 times (yes I really did work it out again)!

We all thank you Lynn for your dedication to the coaches, the players and everyone at Hailsham United Junior Football Club.

Finally, we should take a moment to reflect on the most simple, but I believe the most meaningful of part of Hailsham United's history. Back in 1982, Trevor began his journey with our club and I think its pretty safe to say that our football club wouldn't be where it is today without him.
His tireless work for the last 32 years has enabled hundreds of coaches and literally thousands of children, the ability to safely train and play the game they love. For that Trevor, we all thank you.
